Smile of the Year is the most prestigious competition for dentists and dental technicians in Bulgaria, organised by the newspaper Dental Tribune and held every year. The jury is international — made up of four dentists, world experts in various fields of dentistry. I remember perfectly the excitement when, five years ago, I first decided to test myself in the competition. I was the youngest participant and for the first time had the honour of competing against my own teachers. With a lot of hard work, and perhaps a little luck, I took home my first "Smile of the Year" statuette. Of the ten, it's the most precious to me, because it proved to me that nothing is impossible.

New technologies are something truly exciting for me. Ever since I was a child I was a genuine fan of computers … Well, perhaps most of all of computer games :) Even though it all started out as a game...literally… I fell in love with technology and its power, which helps us change the world around us in seconds. In recent years computers have been transforming the world of dentistry too.
CAD CAM technology, 3D printing and digital smile design have made the perfect, harmonious, natural shapes of a smile more accessible than ever. If technology is my passion, then digital dentistry is most certainly my element.

It's extremely important to me to enjoy my work. That's why I try not to create unnecessary stress for myself, despite the busy schedule. Music helps me a lot in that regard. It relaxes me and helps me stay focused all day long. So the choice of music is up to the patients, and the serenade — that's on me :)

Lectures and training courses are another favourite side of my work. In the role of lecturer I can say I feel completely in my element. The courses I run are on my favourite topics: Aesthetic Dentistry, Minimally Invasive Treatment, Digital Smile Design and Dental Photography. To keep up with all the latest developments, I myself attend interesting courses and seminars every year. Exchanging ideas and experience with dentists from all over the world is an incredibly energising experience. After every course I come back more inspired than ever, full of new ideas and eager to put them into practice that very day.

In winter, besides in the office, you might also run into me on the slopes of our ski resorts — or more precisely, in the little woods around them :) On a sunny January day there's nothing I love more than being among the tall pines, on fresh-fallen snow, with the smiles of my friends across from me (many of them dentists :) Time spent in the mountains definitely clears the mind and recharges the batteries for a few weeks ahead.

As you already know, I'm a fan of technology in every form. Computer games remain my weakness to this day. I mostly play strategic team games. As they say, if you carry your childhood with you, you'll never grow old. I'm working on that :)

My patients know that the dental office often transforms into a professional photography studio :) Every day I take photos and videos to document all the important stages of treatment. Through these photos and videos I analyse in detail what's been done. I'm constantly looking for ways to improve in my work, and photography definitely helps me a great deal in that direction.
