I use ceramic crowns when a tooth needs full restoration – most often for badly damaged or repeatedly treated teeth. The crown wraps the tooth completely and gives it new durability, protecting it for the long term.
They're suitable for both front and back teeth – thanks to their strength and exceptional aesthetics. With the right choice of shape and color, a ceramic crown is indistinguishable from the other teeth in your smile.
I use entirely metal-free materials – ceramic or zirconia. I don't work with metal-ceramics, since they don't achieve the same level of aesthetics and can cause dark lines to appear around the gum.

The process – in three steps
1. Digital impression
After the tooth is prepared, we take a digital impression using an intraoral scanner. It creates hundreds of color images in seconds, which combine into a precise 3D model – accurate to the micron. This is the most modern and comfortable way to plan – without the unpleasant silicone impressions.
2. Design and fabrication
Depending on the needs and the area in the mouth, I offer two approaches:
🔹 CAD/CAM crown
The finished digital design is sent to a milling machine that carves the crown with absolute precision. It's then stained and fired in a special furnace. In many cases the entire process can happen within a day.
🔹 Hand-crafted ceramic
For restoring front teeth I often choose handwork. The dental technician uses the digital design as a foundation but applies each layer of ceramic by hand. Each layer is fired in stages – to achieve exceptional depth of color, shine and natural texture.
3. Precise bonding
Whatever the fabrication method, the final step is placing the finished crown.
I work with a rubber dam – a fine rubber material that isolates the tooth completely from moisture and bacteria.
