Veneers are one of the most refined achievements of modern dentistry – a subtle yet powerful tool for transformation. They let us change the shape, length, color and symmetry of the teeth with minimal intervention and maximum effect.
What you should know:
- Exceptionally thin and delicate – between 0.2 and 0.5 mm.
- Made individually for each patient to fit perfectly against the natural surface of the tooth.
- Once bonded, they form a strong, lasting connection with the tooth and become a natural part of it.
- The patient takes an active role in choosing the shape and color.
- Unlike composite restorations (bonding), ceramic veneers keep their color and shine for years.
- Metal-free – with no risk of darkening around the gum, as happens with metal-ceramics.
A minimally invasive approach. Precision that protects what's natural
To achieve aesthetics without compromise, the teeth are prepared with exceptional care – only a minimal layer is removed from their front surface, almost imperceptible to the naked eye.
I work with high-quality medical loupes that magnify the field of view to the point where I see a tooth the size of a grapefruit. This lets me control every detail and achieve a flawless fit of the veneer.
The process – in four steps
1. Creating a digital design of your new smile.
For this, at your very first visit we'll take photos and videos and I'll scan your smile. Read more here. (link)
2. From digital to real.
A try-in of the new smile design
To begin, I print a 3D model, an exact copy of the digital smile design (link) I've prepared especially for you. I'll transfer this design onto your teeth for real. That way you'll see with your own eyes the final result of the treatment I'm planning for you. At this visit we'll discuss the shape and length of the teeth. We'll also choose a suitable veneer color to highlight the beauty of your new smile.
3. Preparing and making the veneers
Once we're happy with the design, it's time to prepare the teeth themselves. Veneers are exceptionally thin restorations, so only a very small amount needs to be removed from the surface of the natural tooth (0.2-0.5 mm).
Using a digital scanner, I capture a detailed 3D image of the now-prepared teeth and bite. I send this digital impression to a dental laboratory so they can make the ceramic veneers according to the design we tried out.
After this visit, you'll leave with beautiful temporary teeth, a prototype of your future smile. They'll prepare and shape the gums for the permanent veneers.
4. You leave transformed, with a new, more beautiful smile
It's time to bond your ceramic veneers permanently. Using a rubber dam, I'll perfectly isolate the surface of the teeth from moisture and the bacteria in the mouth. Once I bond the veneers, they'll form an exceptionally strong connection with the surface of the natural tooth. Finally, I'll carefully remove any excess bonding material and polish to perfection.
