Precise aesthetics with minimal intervention
Bonding is an excellent choice when we're after lighter but visible corrections – with minimal impact on the natural tooth and maximum aesthetic effect.
It's suitable for patients who don't need a complete change in the shape or color of their smile, but want to perfect the details that bother them.
When I recommend bonding:
- For small chips along the biting edges – from wear or an accident
- For minor corrections of shape, symmetry or gaps between the teeth
- For cervical sensitivity from wear in the area near the gum
- For young patients, for whom veneer or crown procedures are too invasive
How the treatment works:
Bonding is done in a single visit, but behind the result lies careful judgment and handwork, following a plan prepared in advance.
1. Minimal preparation
In most cases only light roughening of the tooth surface is needed – no grinding. To ensure a strong, lasting bond between the material and the tooth, I isolate the area with a rubber dam – a fine sheet that protects against moisture and bacteria.
2. Precise handwork
I build up the tooth with a photopolymer – a composite material with high strength and a translucency resembling natural enamel.
For a natural, harmonious result I use different shades and densities, which I apply by hand, in thin layers, according to the anatomy of the particular tooth.
3. Polishing to perfection
The final and extremely important step is polishing. Thanks to it, the restoration not only looks beautiful but also stays smooth and durable over time.
What you should know:
- Bonding is made from a composite material, the same as in photopolymer fillings – but with much higher aesthetic demands
- I follow a design prepared in advance to make sure we achieve symmetry and harmony
- Everything is done by hand, directly on the tooth – no laboratories
- I use a multi-layer technique with different colors for a natural result
- It's a great solution for cracks, chips, small defects and sensitivity
Maintenance and care
It's important to know that, unlike ceramic veneers, bonding requires periodic maintenance.
I recommend professional polishing every 4 to 8 months, to preserve the shine and durability of the material.
